Located just a half mile from downtown Hickory, Ridgeview is a generationally established neighborhood and one of the oldest historically black communities in the area. Ridgeview is known for local family-owned businesses, its legendary high school football team, and a vibrant culture centered around church and school.

With decades of declining investment in Ridgeview and several surrounding neighborhoods, realization that living in a safe and affordable place to call home would only be a dream for many. To that end Habitat for Humanity, alongside city officials, local organizations and residents, have invested to revitalize and preserve Ridgeview’s historic character and significance.
