Whatever your skills or available time commitment, Habitat has a place for you to serve. Habitat Catawba Valley accepts volunteers year round for New Constructions, Habitat Repairs! and the ReStore. No experience is necessary, and we provide all necessary materials, tools, and trainings. However, volunteers must be scheduled in advance, so please be sure to register on our volunteer website!
Our New Construction program accepts volunteers on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:00am – 12:00pm. We welcome individual and group volunteers. To reserve a private event, contact email@example.com.
Our Habitat Repairs! program accepts volunteers on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30am – 12:30pm. We are currently serving families throughout Catawba County, so be sure and check the address listed on each repair events. Please note that repair projects are all exterior, and therefore weather dependent.
Volunteers are needed at ReStore Catawba Valley to help sort and price incoming donations, arrange displays, and run the cash register. Volunteers are needed Monday – Saturday, with both morning and afternoon shifts available. ReStore volunteers can work 4-hour shifts or the whole day, it’s up to you. Our greatest need is for those who can make a regular weekly commitment of 3-4 hours or more, but one-time or occasional volunteers are also welcomed Please register for an orientation first if you are a new ReStore volunteer.
Individual Construction Volunteers
Habitat Catawba Valley welcomes individual volunteers in our New Construction, Repairs!, and ReStore programs. To get involved, visit our online volunteer calendar.
Groups are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Group sizes can range from 5-12 volunteers. If you need to customize your group size, times, or date options, check out our Team Building Program!
Youth Construction Volunteers
Because Habitat complies with OSHA safety regulations, and in order to keep our volunteers safe, we require certain age restrictions on our worksites. Our regular construction worksites are open to volunteers 16 and over; however, youth 16-17 years of age cannot operate power tools or work at heights of more than 6 ft off the ground. All minors must be accompanied by an adult or chaperone, and must have a parent/guardian fill out a Waiver of Liability and a Minors Permission Form to be allowed to work on site.
Habitat does offer select hospitality opportunities to youth 15 and younger. For more info, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
