Duke Energy
Duke Energy has suspended disconnections for nonpayment for home and business accounts. Effective March 21st, Duke Energy is waiving all fees for late payments and returned checks,and for credit or debit card payments for residential accounts. Customers who were recently disconnected can contact Duke Energy to make arrangements for service restoration.
Piedmont Natural Gas
PNG has suspended disconnections for nonpayment effective March 13th. This applies to all home and business accounts in North Carolina. In addition, PNG has waived all late payment fees and fees for returned checks effective March 21. Customers who were recently disconnected can contact PNG to make arrangements for service restoration. See Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
Charter Spectrum Broadband Internet
Charter is offering free Spectrum Internet and WiFi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students, and educators, who do not already have a Spectrum Internet subscription. Installation fees will be waived. Call 1-844-488-8395 to access.
Charter continues to offer Spectrum Internet Assist a high speed broadband program available to eligible low-income households.
Charter has opened WiFi hotspots across its footprint for public use. Spectrum will not terminate service for residential or small business customers who face difficult economic circumstances related to the pandemic. Similarly, Charter will not charge late fees for those customers facing financial burdens due to the pandemic.
