Churches PDF Print E-mail

Churches are the backbone of Habitat for Humanity.  Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization founded on the belief that people cannot live and grow into all that God intends unless they have access to safe, decent, and affordable housing.  Habitat is about serving God by serving others.

Contrary to popular belief, Habitat does not give away houses.  Homeowners invest sweat equity hours and pay a 0% mortgage. Learn about other Habitat Myths here.

Calling churches to action
Partnering with churches helps Habitat for Humanity fulfill our mission to demonstrate the love and teachings of Jesus Christ. Churches provide essential prayer support and invaluable resources that help serve families in need of housing.  Habitat provides an opportunity for churches to put their faith into action and help end poverty housing.

Benefits of church partnerships

Habitat for Humanity benefits from all the contributions that churches make to this ministry. The prayer, financial and volunteer support that churches provide is the backbone of Habitat’s work.
